  2. This fictional experience could prevent history from repeating by it showing how peoples lives were different from then and now. An example from the video is how the girl when from the present in to the past and realized what it was like back then and the difference from then and now.
This shows that sense that girl experience what is was like then and how different it was from her present life, she would most likely not want to live in them conditions. She realized how it difficult is was for people then.
In conclusion this video would help prevent history from repeating by using a girl around our age to tell us, and show us that it was a terrible time for people, also it should never happen again.

  3. I believe the purpose of using the compelling literary device of casting the main character into a parallel universe was meant to show her everything her ancestor had to go through during the Holocaust and to show her what sacrifices had to be made. Hannah being able to experience the Holocaust made her change her mind or feelings toward certain things such as getting tattoos and how important the family gatherings was. It made her understand the pain that her Aunt Rivkah was living in the concentration camp and how terrifying it was. After Hannah experiencing the Holocaust, she was able to learn so many things that she did not know about and showing more respect and love towards her family.
This fictional experience could actually prevent history from repeating again. Like Hannah, she tries to warn the Jews about the Nazis taking them to the concentration camps and telling the Jews what she knows what will happen next. She would be able to prevent the history repeating itself if only the Jews would listen to her and not thinking she was ill or insane for knowing the truth.

  4. The use of this device in terms of purpose is to show that people like Hannah don't bother about their family's past or how much she doesn't care about her Jewish background or traditions, only of the things of today's world. Now that she has gone through it or experienced it, as the suffering Jews did, she will see how painful those events were and how important of an impact they make today to Jews everywhere. It helps teenagers to realize their indifference and ignorance to the past is not the best. At the beginning of the movie, Hannah only cared about material things; such as the latest fashion, shopping, hanging out with her friends and even getting tattoos. When her mother told her about Passover, she wanted to forfeit, and not attend it. Even when she did attend it, she had an attitude and didn't want to go on with the ceremony. This shows her ignorance towards her family. She didn't know how much Passover was important, why they even celebrated it (her uncle claimed she was too into the modern day to understand it). History really opened her eyes, and will give her all the right reasons to change. She was told it was her turn to open the door at Passover but got sucked into another universe, where she was living the life of her grandmother, as a Jew. As soon she entered the camp, she thought it was fake, and she was probably dreaming. Everything went well between Hannah and Rivka until the Nazis took the Jews away (only Hannah was aware of the danger were in). She started to cry because she knew what was coming ahead and even asked Rivka if it was better to know or not to know. Her tears were only the beginning. I believe at this point, the universe was trying to teach her a hard lesson on how important her family meetings or gatherings are. The universe is also trying to turn her ignorance into awareness, heedfulness, and exhibition of a higher lever of caring. She would be thankful for her freedom, her life, her family and that she lives in the time she is. She is not in a time of pain, suffering, and grief. She doesn't have to lose family, be burned to death or work to death. She doesn't have limited, food, water, and clothing. She isn't treated like an animal. The opposites of these are possible in her parallel universe. This fictional experience could actually prevent history from repeating by her being more aware, and active to avoid and stop any type of situation as this. If she has been through it, she knows how it feels like and what signs and tiny steps lead up to the Holocaust. If she catches any signs, she can stop it. She would not allow it to happen again because it was horrible event for anyone born in that time. She can be able to change anything suspicious. Now that she is really educated about the Holocaust, she has the right and authority to warn people.

  5. The purpose of using this literary device was to show how and what hannah or any other jew had to go through during the holocaust . Hannah started off sort of not caring about her family and how they do things , then when she finally realized that it was important she wanted to believe and change . Now since she had to experience that struggle , she didnt want to believe it because shes never been through it and also it was to harsh to believe and she was questioning why . Basically , they were trying to make her learn a really big lesson in her life towards her families hard times and what they have to go through and how important it is . They were trying to make her feel less of herself because when she asked are you used to rich things and hannah said yes but instead they put her on down graded and cheap clothes . She could have been able to prevent repeating if people listened and reacted in a way to help . People didnt want to believe because of how hard it was to believe , i say . If they actually believed her , things wouldnt have been where they did get . After all this happened to hannah , she experienced a great impact of other peoples lives including hers , especially . By her experiencing this she now knows how life could really be and what others are put through when they have such a leader like Hitler ruling over them .

  7. The purpose of the literary device was to open up Hannah's eyes, and show her that it wasn't just a dumb holiday and that there was a reason that her family celebrated it. The experience gave Hannah more appreciation for what she had,and made her have more respect for the holiday. She was sent into that parallel universe and personally endured everything that her family had endured. It changed her perspective of everything, because in the beginning she wanted to get a tattoo and then after the experience she no longer wanted one, because she saw how they were used in a negative manner in order to keep track of the Jews. And afterwards she wanted to participate in the Jewish holiday and she did so with a smile on her face.
This fictional experience could stop history from repeating because it shows the horrific things that the Jews had to go through. It shows the pain, and how everything was taken from them within minuets. It helps prevent it from happening again because the Jews were completely unaware and unprepared. The experience better prepares because someone will always remember and will be able to tell when something wrong is happening. The experience opened Hannah's eyes and allowed her to help others. While there she tried to help people, and she was there source of comfort. Hopefully since she went through that, if it were to be attempted to happen again she would tell others get the help to stop it from happening.

  9. This fictional experience can actually prevent history from repeating because it makes us want to be aware of our history, and where, and what our family came from. I believe that if we can know our history we can control our past, meaning that if we know all the bad things that went on we can prevent them from happening. Hannah was a normal teenager who was consumed with the trends in her time. When the author casted her into the parallel universe it showed her, that the things she stressed about in her life was nothing compared to what her family had to go through. It also makes the reader or watcher feel like what they’re going through isn’t important and makes the reevaluate their priorities.
